Midsummer Festival 2026 - Music, Dance & Delicious Food

Due to the Juneteenth federal holiday on Friday, the 2026 NYC Midsummer Festival will be held on Saturday, June 20! The location will be the same as 2025, at Rockefeller Park in Downtown Manhattan. The event runs from 4pm to 9pm, rain or shine.

Join us for the annual Swedish Midsummer Festival, a vibrant celebration hosted by the Consulate General of Sweden in New York, together with Battery Park City Authority. Held in Rockefeller Park, the event promises to bring the magic of Swedish Midsummer to the heart of Manhattan!

Event Highlights:

• Get a free, limted-edition tote bag: First 100 guests receive a beautiful tote bag filled with goodies, the following 900 guests will get a tote bag.
• Design your own flower crown with the help of volunteers from SWEA New York.
• Dancing Around the Midsummer Pole: Enjoy traditional folk music and dance led by Ross Sutter, a renowned Scandinavian folklorist.
• Live Music: Featuring Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis.
• Picnic and Treats: Savor seasonal delicacies from local Swedish restaurants.
• Swedish Midway Market: Shop home goods, stationary, kitchenware, cosmetics, and more at pop-up shops from Swedish vendors.
• Pinocchio Marionette Show: Central Park's iconic Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre will join with puppet shows by NYC CityParks' PuppetMobile
• FIFA Mobile Tour: Stop by FIFA's electric van for "football"-themed activations celebrating the 2026 World Cup.
• A Sunset DJ Set: Dance the night away with entertainment by DJ Isac Cederborg, provided by Candy King

3:45 PM            

• Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre: A marionette show with songs from Pinocchio, hosted by Swedish icon Pippi Longstocking

4:00 PM            

• Grand Entrance: A red carpet moment complete with a welcoming serenade by Swedish trumpeter Oskar Stenmark
• Midsummer Volvo: Take a selfie with this year’s special edition vehicle fit with a massive flower crown
• FIFA Mobile: World Cup-themed lawn games and football fun
• Flower Crowns by SWEA: Make your own wreaths from beautiful flowers (While supplies last)
• Maypole Preparation: Watch the Maypole come to life, courtesy of Swedish candy brand BUBS, while listening to fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis
• Midsummer Games: Families are invited to play classic games on the Rockefeller Park lawn
• Midsummer Midway: Visit booths from Swedish artisans and festival sponsors for shopping and giveaways

• Maypole Procession - A nostalgic celebration of the summer solstice. Followed by lively dancing around the Midsummer Maypole with Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute and Ross Sutter, a Scandinavian folklorist

5:45 PM         

• Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre: A marionette show with songs from Pinocchio, hosted by Swedish icon Pippi Longstocking
